The Story Behind the Nest

A conversation with Dawn, the eye and inspiration behind Feather Your Nest.

Born in Brooklyn, I’ll always be a New Yorker at heart. My love for the hunt began at an early age, tagging along with my grandmother to neighborhood thrift shops, never knowing what treasures we might discover. Those early adventures sparked a lifelong appreciation for beautiful old things, pieces with history, and the stories they carry. I fell in love with the thrill of discovering something special, and I’ve never looked back.

While I have a lifelong affinity for fashion and a classic, feminine aesthetic, I am equally adept at scaling a ladder or wielding a hammer when a project demands it. Patience, admittedly, has never been my crowning virtue; in truth, I am still that enthusiastic child who yearned to open her Christmas presents ahead of schedule.

Within my own home, I have intentionally curated an environment that serves as a reflection of my soul. There is no compliment I treasure more than when guests immerse themselves in the space and find themselves reluctant to depart. I have an immense passion for hosting, particularly when enveloped in the magic of the holiday season.

When I'm not on the hunt for new inventory, you'll  find me lost in a good book, flanked by my beloved French Bulldogs and my majestic cat, Leonardo DiCatrio.

My family and cherished inner circle constitute my absolute gravity; they are my steadfast anchors and the individuals whose unwavering loyalty I count on most. Grant me an exquisite meal, a beautiful rosé, and an evening of rich conversation with my favorite people, and my contentment is absolute.
